With the sun setting later and flowers starting to bloom, we are definitely in the mood for a lighthearted romance book. We’ve made a list of some of our favorite romance books to read this spring!
Expiration Dates by Rebecca Serle
Magical realism, flashbacks, and love triangle.
Daphne knew exactly how long each of her relationships would last before it even began. She receives a note with their name and a time frame from two years to a single day. When Daphne is on the way to a blind date set up by one of her friends, she gets a slip of paper with his name, but no expiration date.
This book is the perfect amount of whimsical! The concept is unique and refreshing, which is perfect for springtime. It is a quick and easy read that is guaranteed to get you out of a reading slump!
The Flatshare by Beth O'Leary
Opposites attract, forced proximity, and love letters
Tiffy finds herself in need of a place to live and Leon needs the extra cash. Since Leon exclusively works nights, Tiffy has the apartment to herself when she needs it and while Tiffy is at work, Leon will be home. They will never have to meet.
The Flatshare is a story about new beginnings and taking chances. The setting bounces around from the fast paced city life in London, to the peaceful coast, and even a dramatic evening in a castle! That along with Tiffy’s quirkiness and Leon’s type A personality for a fun read.
The Magic of the Lemon Drop Pie by Rachel Lindon
Three wishes, second chances, and flashbacks.
Lolly gave up everything when her mother died. She gave up on her dreams, broke it off with her boyfriend, and moved back home to help support the family business and look after her family. Ten years have past, and as a birthday gift Lolly’s great aunt gives her three lemon drops, each will grant her the opportunity to live a day in a life that could have been.
The Magic of the Lemon Drop Pie is essentially a Hallmark movie in a book! It is sweet and emotional in the best ways.
The Strawberry Patch Pancake House by Laurie Gilmore
Single dad, slow burn, and found family.
Archer never pictured himself running a pancake diner in the small town of Dream Harbor, until he finds out he has a daughter he’s never met. Now a single dad in an unfamiliar place, he looks to the most unlikely person for help, Iris. Iris is not qualified to be a nanny, but being fresh out of work and with no opportunities on the horizon, she takes Archer up on his offer.
This book is a part of the Dream harbor series, but can be read as a standalone. The small town vibes are ideal for the spring season. The Strawberry Patch Pancake House feels like walking through a farmer’s market on a sunny morning and I couldn't ask for anything more!
Ready Or Not by Cara Bastone
Accidental pregnancy, friends to lovers, and NYC.
When Eve has a one night stand with Ethan, the owner of a dog friendly bar, she ends up pregnant. The problem: Ethan is now back together with his on-again off-again girlfriend. Thankfully, she has her best friends Willa and Shep and want to help her navigate this exciting new chapter!
This book was complex and frustrating in the most perfect way. It has a lot of tropes I don't usually love (friends to lovers, accidental pregnancy, and love triangle) but I really loved it. It was sweet and wholesome with a hopeful message. Ideal for your spring TBR!
First Time Caller by B.K. Borison
Forced proximity, hopeless romantic, and single mom.
Lucie thinks she has everything she needs, but when she finds her daughter calling a radio romance hotline looking for advice to help her mom find love, she knows something has to change. The call goes viral, she’s given the opportunity to come back on the show to look for love. The host, Aiden Valentine, isn’t sure he believes in love anymore. Luce is desperate to prove him wrong and find the magic she knows love can be.
This Sleepless in Seattle inspired book is made for the hopeless romantics. The chemistry is unmatched and definitely made me believe in love.
